Restylane Skinboosters: Your Guide to Deep Skin Hydration
Your skin deserves to always look its best, so it needs to stay nourished and hydrated at all times. However, as you age, you start noticing signs that your skin is losing the moisture it needs to stay supple and healthy: it begins to feel tight and rough--and eventually appears dull, cracked, and wrinkled.
You’ve tried every type of moisture and serum but they seem insufficient to meet your skin’s increasing needs. What you might actually need is a brand new approach to delivering deep skin hydration to your skin. Enter Restylane Skinboosters.
Here at Skin MD, our skin experts offer Restylane Skinboosters to provide your skin the deep hydration it needs so you can achieve a healthy and more youthful skin. In this infographic, we present everything you need to know about this latest treatment.
What is Restylane Skinboosters?
Restylane Skinboosters are a series of filler treatments that employs a microinjection technique to deliver hyaluronic acid (HA) deep into the skin to improve firmness, hydration and luminosity where it’s needed.
What is Hyaluronic Acid? HA is a substance naturally found in the body. It has the ability to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, making it an essential ingredient in many hydrating products today. It is proven to rejuvenate the skin, giving it a long-lasting glow and hydration, and soften fine lines and acne scars at the same time.
Dry Skin vs. Dehydrated Skin
Before delving deep further about Restylane Skinboosters, the solution to your dehydrated skin, here’s a brief lesson on the difference between a dry and dehydrated skin:
A dry skin is identified as a skin type and is usually inherited. It is often a result of the poor production of the skin’s natural oils but can also be due to hormonal imbalances or hypothyroidism.
On the other hand, a dehydrated skin is a condition typically caused by factors that can drain the skin’s water content such as the weather, unhealthy diet, and poor lifestyle choices. All these result in a less supple skin with lackluster appearance.
Here are signs of dry and dehydrated skin: (note: there’s no clinical difference between dry and dehydrated skin, they look the same)
Dull skin
Fine lines and wrinkles
Increased sensitivity
Itchy skin
How Restylane Works
Over time, your skin quality changes: the production of collagen, elastin and HA – the key ingredients to keeping your skin plump and radiant – diminishes over time, thus making your skin drier and less elastic.
Restylane Skinboosters offer you the opportunity to reverse skin aging, replenish and maintain the lost HA into the skin. What’s more, these will also help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, giving your skin the hydration associated with a youthful and healthy skin.
Restylane is the only treatment that uses a range of Skinboosters with stabilized HA to ensure a long-term anti-aging effect.

Restylane Skinboosters are often performed on the face and neck but, they also work effectively to improve other areas of the body and skin problems.

Who is it for?
Restylane Skinboosters are versatile and guaranteed to suit every skin type. They are recommended for:
Both men and women of all skin types
People with younger or mature skin
People who want to address skin issues: acne scars, sun damage
Treatment Program
A Restylane treatment program typically consists of three initial sessions that are 2-4 weeks apart. In each session, a series of fine injections are administered, to gradually restore the skin’s elasticity and smoothness. After the initial treatment is complete, a maintenance session is often recommended once every 6 months. It will help maintain the results longer.
Preparations and After Care
Before
Prior to the treatment, you will be advised to attend an initial consultation. Here, you will have to discuss your medical conditions: whether you are taking medications, pregnant or breastfeeding, have allergies or had previous aesthetic treatments.
During
On each visit, you will be applied with a local anesthetic cream before your dermatologist can proceed to introducing the Skinboosters through a series of fine-needle injections on your problem areas. Each treatment will take around 10-15 minutes to finish.
After
The treatment has a certain degree of downtime. There will be minor bruising or swelling around the treated areas afterward. Allow at least 24 hours before applying makeup on, and avoid exposure to extreme sun or cold at least until the swelling or redness subsides.
